Description Matt 2018-07-21 08:54:16 UTC
Description:
Trying to insert a graphic caption below my graphic but that's not possible. I only have the options to place the caption at the beginning or at the end of the graphic, which will lead to a broken deign.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. insert a diagram
2. insert caption
3. caption will be at the end of the graphic.

Actual Results:
The graphic caption is at the bottom right side of my diagram and breaks the design of my diagram

Expected Results:
I expect the caption to be below the diagram, not on the bottom right side

Reproducible: Always

Hello Matt,

I get it by selecting and reducing the chart area. Perhaps this is not what you want to do. Can you then precise your steps to insert the caption?
thank you.

Hi Jacques,

thank you for your time and support.
I insert the caption by either right click -> caption or i go via the head menu "insert" -> "caption"

You are actually right that the caption will be positioned below the graph by reducing the chart area. This is actually a very good solution for now. Another solution was, first inserting an empty chart, add the caption and then fill it with my numbers. The caption stayed where it belongs.

I still consider this as an error that needs to be fixed in the future versions.

Additonally, I do not understand why graphs in libre office have two frames. One that is around the graph and another one that is around graph and caption. And when changing the size of the frames, it can totally mess up the graph.

Thanks again.

Best regards,
Matt

I can't reproduce it in

Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 934c7fdd23c95858fba022ba1fe7c00d23f502b5
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.13; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: ca-ES (ca_ES.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded

When I insert a caption to a chart, it's displayed at the bottom, without resizing the chart....
