Description:
one writer file got converted into spreadsheet file . I have opened the file by mistake then I got to know

Actual Results:
it should be writer file

Expected Results:
it should be writer file

Thank you for the report. Perhaps it's me, but I don't understand your report. What I understand, is that you tried to open a word-document in calc. But I don't know, what is the bug about. If you open writer, it should be no problem to open your word document.

Please also try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ 

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' after giving some more informations.

writer file was created and saved after few days when the file was opened it automatically opened in spreadsheet . also see the screenshot attachment.

Now it's more clear to me. Is it possible to add this file as attachment, so that other users can try to reproduce it.

I copuldn't see a problem. Attached file is opened in writer. Perhaps there's a general setting on your system, that RTF-files should be opened in Calc. Have you checked that?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'.

did you unintentionally set the "RTF" extension to be opened by LibO Calc instead of Writer?

moreover you are using an obsolete LibO 5.3.7 release.

LibO 6.0.5 is out and you should upgrade to that release.

I have checked the default app for .rtf was calc. I haven't set default app for .rtf. Also the computer is mine and used by me only(there is one user account only). so there is no question of setting default app by someone else. also the current/latest version  is 5.4.7.

it seems problem with libre office which might have changed .rtf extension to be opened in calc

libre office 6.0.5 is newest version

Set the default back to Writer. If the default changes back to Calc after the next install, we can look at this again. Maybe try with 6.1.1 after it is released: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/6.1#6.1.1_release
