Description: When you enter and confirm a password in the Protect Sheet dialog of Libreoffice Calc while CapsLock is toggled on, there is no warning. Users don't usually intend for CapsLock to be on while they are creating a password. If CapsLock has been toggled on accidentally, or the user has forgotten to toggle it off, it's therefore possible that they will be unaware that they are creating a password with inverted capitalisation, and will probably not know why their attempts to unprotect the sheet fail. Steps to Reproduce: 1. "Accidentally" toggle CapsLock on. 2. Tools > Protect Sheet. Enter and confirm password. Actual Results: No warning is given either while you are entering and confirming the passwords or when you select OK. Expected Results: A warning should be given. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info:
We have this behavior each time LO is asking a password, both if defining the password and providing the registered password. For example when saving a document with a password or opening it. Your enhancement proposition is valid and I support it. Best regards. JBF
I suggest you to extend your enhancement request to all situations where a password is requested. Do you agree? Best regards. JBF
Thanks JBF. I agree with your suggestion that this enhancement request should be extended to all situations where a password is requested. I am editing the summary of this bug accordingly and changing the component option from Calc to generic LibreOffice.
