Description:
I'm sorry, i can't find the latest report I made about this subject. It was resolved but it occurred again... and again.
The issue : for years, almost each and every time I keep Libre Office open while I'm doing something else on the computer, when I try to use LO again, it freezes. Like this : http://agitato.free.fr/libreoffice.jpg
The only solution is to close it all (no matter how many files open, the unsaved stuff is lost). After that, it takes a 20-30 seconds to recover lost files...
So, I've been advised to erase the LO Profile, which I did. Then it worked fine... until yesterday and until now.
I'm not brave enough to erase the LO profile several times a day for the rest of my life, I'm an author and I need a stable software.
Maybe someone has an idea ?
Thank you,
C

Actual Results:
starts again

Expected Results:
works fine... until next time

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

I'm going to do that but :
1. latest version never solved anything, about this issue, I mean,
2. my LO software tells me it's up to date...

I'll let you know if it works with 6.0.6 version.

Thank you,
C

Changing to NEEDINFO while user tests on the latest version.

Gargl !
Just did it again !
Same as usual : opened for a while, a clic in the text file, LO freezes, must force closure and reopen after recovering files.

Version: 6.0.6.2 (x64)
Build ID: 0c292870b25a325b5ed35f6b45599d2ea4458e77
Threads CPU : 4; OS : Windows 6.1; UI Render : GL;
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR); Calc: group

So... voodoo thing on french version ? :-)

To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and
re-test?
Comment 6 Inbadreams 2018-08-19 14:05:37 UTC
I did it yet but I can do it again.
I'll report new issue soon, I guess...

I failed to find the folder !
But I'll soon have to disappear in a dark hospital room for a couple of weeks, I'll manage this when I'm back home.

Thank you.
The important line in my message was "> I failed to find the folder !" :-)
I mean the Profile folder.
Although LO works fine since last crash...
Talk soon (or so)

You can find it if you go to Help - Restart in Safe mode - Advanced - Show User profile

Thank you.
I've done that but there's no folder named Profile in what I saw.
I have this : http://agitato.free.fr/liboff.jpg

Go one level up and rename the user folder...
Comment 14 Inbadreams 2018-08-22 12:34:23 UTC
Alright, you mean it's no longer called Profile :o)
I delete all these folders which are the content of a for so long called Profile ?

It was easier before :-)

Still freezing after deleting the user profile?
Comment 16 Inbadreams 2018-08-27 17:11:21 UTC
Still haven't delete the Profile since I don't know what to delete.
But it works fine so far, although I havent written a lot those last days.

You had similar bug 118953 "annoying issue for years".
I undestrand the problem and regrest, but this bug report as it seems cannot help determine the bug and cause and thus has no purpose staying open.
I'll close.
Please search for other bugs, there are a myriad of them.
Bug 115845 could be related.
