Description: The bug occurs when a new document is created in any of LibreOffice applications (Calc, Writer). What occurs is, when the application is started with a blank new Untitled document, the command File -> Save As doesn't save a file under a given name. On the other hand, when a new document is created from Windows Explorer, by right clicking inside a folder whitespace and choosing "New" followed by a chosen document type, and typing the name of newly created document, any further changes to the document created in this way are saved to disk permanently. Also any existing documents are saved with the changes introduced after opening them. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch any LibreOffice component application 2. Go File -> Save as and enter the file name 3. click Save Actual Results: The file name is not changed on the title bar, no file is created on disk Expected Results: A file with the name given and contents should be created Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Wersja: 6.1.0.3 (x64) Build ID: efb621ed25068d70781dc026f7e9c5187a4decd1 Wątki CPU: 4; OS:Windows 6.1; UI render:domyślny; Ustawienia regionalne: pl-PL (pl_PL); Calc: group threaded
Perhaps it is Windows specific. I tested using Ubuntu 18.04 and LibreOffice 6.1.1 RC and 6.2 Alpha, starting the application with --calc, --writer, --draw and then 'save as' for each - it all worked as expected. But as I say that is using Linux.
Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and re-test? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present
This bug seems to be Windows related, as I am able to save documents normally, after I started a fresh Windows session today. I've also started LO in Safe Mode without resetting anything and switched back to normal working mode. The bug no longer appears. I'll mark it as UNCONFIRMED as the origin of a bug should be tracked down...
if you will have this bug again and you will have clear steps to repro, then reopen this bug. Status -> NOTABUG
