Description: This problem is very old and probably exist from the beginning on: I install a language pack,e.g. German, and set it as the default language. I also set the Paragraph style (language: German). But the spellchecker still tries to check for English. Also tried to set the language in the lower right corner, but to no avail. I have to set the language for every single word in the impress document. Steps to Reproduce: 1.install a language, e.g. German 2.set the language as default lang. for documents, set lang. in lower right corner, set language in paragraph style 3.open a presentation and check spelling Actual Results: Impress always checks for English and ignores all settings made by the user Expected Results: Impress must check for the language set by the user Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: [Information automatically included from LibreOffice] Locale: en-US Module: PresentationDocument [Information guessed from browser] OS: Linux (All) OS is 64bit: yes
To set the default language for Impress go to Tools > Options > Language Settings > Languages. In section "Default Languages for Documents" select the desired language in the drop-down list for "Western". In the section "Enhanced Language Supprt" check the option "Ignore system input language". It might be, that in existing documents or templates the language is already explicitly set in styles. That will have precedence. Make sure you actually select a language and do not use an item with "default".
