You can't confirm your own bugs. Moving it back to UNCONFIRMED until someone
else confirms it.

So, I copied the image from page 2 to page 3 and I can make it to look like page 1 by adjusting the width and heigh to fit the page. Could you please explain what's the problem on your side?
Comment 4 yinlkwong 2018-11-28 10:53:54 UTC
Suppose you capture an A4 image, but the image is capture in landscape form. Now to read properly, you have to rotate 90.

1. If you use import the capture image to writer as it is, you have to rotate the image 90 or 180 to read it. if you want the rotated image to stretched and occupy the whole portrait A4 page, you can't because the rotated image can't be placed at the edge of the paper and stretch.
2. Neither can you modify the properties of the image , the width or height or position of the rotated image.

3. To solve this stretching problem to fill whole portrait page, you have to rotate the image first and then import in writer.

1 and 2 is the problem. Can writer fixed this to avoiding doing step no.3?
Problem also apply to libreoffice writer 6.07

It seems to be the same problem as bug 115934. Please have a look at bug 115934 and its duplicates.

Yes, the bug is the subset of bug 115934.

However, the problem that I describe here is a common task.
i.e To have the image display in the correct orientation occupying the full page area.

Perhaps a switch radio button can be added so that the height and width get swapped only for rotation of 90,270 degrees. This radio button is the equivalent of rotating the image outside libreoffice and import after rotation.

I also couldn't find a way a change the image size to A4. Without rotating the image, it's no problem.
