Description bgz 2018-10-09 03:34:18 UTC
I want to insert an em-dash using "normal" keystrokes. If I enter two hyphens between words, this works. E.g.,
  test--test
converts to
  test<em-dash>test

But what I want is test<space><em-dash><space>test, and I can't get Writer to do this. If if write
    test<space>--<space>test
I get
    test<space>--<space>test
not (what I want)
    test<space><em-dash><space>test

I've tried multiple things I've seen when I googled for this, but nothing works. Specifically, I tried adding
<space>--<space> -> <space><em-dash><space>
to the Autocorrect options, and made sure that 'While Typing' was selected, but that did nothing.

It works for me. What operating system are you using? Did you try in Safe mode? Help - Restart in safe mode and then Continue in safe mode.
