Description ammine007 2018-11-21 14:04:58 UTC
LibreOffice 6.2 notebook tabbed bar is missing RTL and LTR buttons after enabling CTL Complex text Layout, from tools- options - Languages. While being activated and present in both Standard and Right SideBar of LibreOffice 6.2 Beta1.

Please get a more detailed idea with this explained video: https://youtu.be/fUe5Eh8HUEI

May be it is not a bug, but the idea behind LibreOffice notebook tabbed bar, is to offer a UI similar to the Ribbon UI of Microsoft Office 2007-2016. And in Ms Office LTR and RTL when enabled, they are present in the Ribbon UI.

That is why I think that RTL and LTR buttons should be added automatically to LibreOffice Notebook Tabbed Bar, once the use enable CTL.

Makes sense, but why not go one step ahead and create a entirely RTL focused NB variant where controls start at the right side?

Eventually not a UX topic but a question of the NB variant design, removing keyword.
