Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Impress
2. Drag&Drop the slide to the right from the slide pane
-> Slide gets duplicated

Isn't that how the other backends also work ?, i.e. doesn't this just align the gtk3 vclplug with the generic one so that drag and drop slides to the main pane copies them ?

I have tested AOO4.1.5. If I drag a slide from the left slide pane to the center pane I get a "+" cursor and the slide is duplicated.

Same in LO 4.5, LO 5.2.6, LO 5.4.7, LO 6.0.7 and LO 6.1.3.

Duplication is the expected behavior. Or do I misunderstand your description?
