Description tghuguenin 2018-12-07 17:03:36 UTC
Description:
After enabling direct cursor (in Writer), I can see black remnants of the direct cursor behind all over the page (both new and existing documents). Even had the entire doc background go black once but have not reproduced that.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Enable Direct Cursor in Writer
2. Move the cursor around on the screen!
3.

Actual Results:
Black marks (not normal direct cursor movement)

Expected Results:
normal direct cursor movement (no black marks left behind where cursor used to be)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Happens whether or not OpenGL is enabled

Can't confirm it with

CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win;

Calc: threaded

Confirming with

Version: 6.1.3.4 LO Vanilla
Build ID: 15843ed45a7b807506f7cf3529f9e15dd77e4b8b
Threads CPU : 4; OS : Mac OS X 10.14.1; UI Render : par défaut;
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded

1) Open a Writer document.

2) Under Preferences - Formatting Aids, activate the direct cursor, leaving the default "insert spaces" radio button selected.

3) Close the Preferences dialog clicking on OK.

4) Now click on the Writer page in several different pages, including in the Footer area.

5) At some stage, the document will scroll and a black background will be displayed that covers/replaces the document display.

No repro with

Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 8ec5c249fc40fb80d2a00e54a0bd76451dbc6477
CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.14.1; UI render: default; VCL: osx;
Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

So, given comment 1 with regard to LO6.2beta1, and my own testing with LODev63alpha, marking as RESOLVED WFM, as we don't know the commit that fixed this. It would be nice if it could be found and backported to 6.1 though.
