Description Gross A'Tuin 2019-01-14 16:10:45 UTC
Description:
Since I installed LibreOffice 6.1.2 the displayed window does not fit to what usually is displayed. For example: The bottom status line is shown 50 percent only, the status bar to the left is missing completely.
Additionally it's pretty difficult to really hit the menu buttons due to misleading mouse coordinates. E.g.: When I try to hit the "Safe" icon (third from the left in default) I've to click somewhere below and to the right relatively to icon position. I'm pretty sure this has not been the case under Windows 7, but I had to upgrade and to re-install the 6.1.x LibreOffice. That's when the bug first occured.
I've made a screenshot (and blurred my text 'cause it's not necessary to describe the bug): https://www.magentacloud.de/share/2qjoou80gi

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Simply open LibreOffice Writer, there's no second step
2.
3.

Actual Results:
There's nothing more to happen, it's difficult to interact with the mouse within the LibreOffice Writer screen. Some icons and functionality even is not reachable due to this bug.

Expected Results:
What should happen: That the "inner" metrics of the screen fit to the window so that all which should be shown within the window is actually shown within the window (size) ;)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
It's not possible to reach the "Help - About LibreOffice" information, otherwise I'd have pasted it here. I've a Intel HD Graphics 520, OpenGL 4.4 enabled. I could not reset my UserProfile (can't find the menu icons to do so - possibly due to the bug).

dialog window for "open file" also displayed with wrong coordinates

While testing some other dialogs I saw that even the sub dialog windows are shown in a strange manner (almost unusable). So I think this is a general problem of how contents of LibreOffice Writer are shown within Windows 10
Comment 3 Dieter 2019-01-16 09:54:10 UTC
I can't reproduce this with Windows 10 Version 1809

and
Version: 6.1.4.2 (x64)
Build-ID: 9d0f32d1f0b509096fd65e0d4bec26ddd1938fd3
CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Windows 10.0; UI-Render: Standard;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: group threaded

Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ and a fresh user profile (https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.

Hi.
I've re-installed the "fresh" version as recommended. Furthermore I reset the user profile. But the result ist the same as before, the contents of the Writer window do not fit in the window itself (could create the same screenshot).
Is there any more Info you could use? Shall I install the early adopter version?

Does it work if you disable OpenGl ? -> https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/OpenGL

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

This is what I see within options due to the misled rendering

Hi,

my problem switching off the OpenGL rendering is that I even can't see the options menu completely. Is there any shortcut or configuration file where I can set this OpenGL rendering feature to "off"?

Menu rendering without using OpenGL - now everything seems to be normal

Hi folks,

to switch off the OpenGL rendering made the trick. So I have to assume that this is a Windows10/OpenGL bug rather than a LibreOffice bug right? If my assumption is correct please close this bug as solved.
Thanks to all, best Regards,
Martin

Could you post details for your Graphics card? LibreOffice stores that in your user profile. Copy the contents of this file to a comment here: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\cache\opengl_device.log
