Description:
Opening some dialog boxes (like Edit Style) in Writer under Win7/64 in Libreoffice 6.14 & 6.0.7 can take up to 4-5 minutes.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Edit Styles in Writer under Win7/64
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Right-click on text and select Edit Styles

Expected Results:
The dialog box eventually opens but it takes 4-5 minutes to do so.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
The dialog should open in a few seconds at most.

Note that it happens in Win7 only, Linux versions of Writer work ok.

Could you give a try to https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps?

Also, could you provide your UI Render? (see Help ▸ About LibreOffice)
If OpenGL, could you check you got the last updates of your graphic card?

Here's the steps i followed again:

1. Remove profile and uninstall Libre. Update Java to Version 8 Update 201 (both 8 & 64bit, removing older version)
2. Reinstall latest 6.1.4 (20/1/2019)
3. The first time it loads after installation it takes 3-4 mins to draw the main window. After the first time the main window opens quickly.
4. UI uses GL. (Latest AMD 19.1.1 drivers installed)
5. Edit Styles takes 4-5 mins to display

I checked User Profile permissions, disabled GL (Ui=default), disabled Java. Same delay opening some dialogs.

Do you have only fonts from Windows and LO or did you install specific fonts?
In the last case, could you remove temporarily these for the test?

Also, do you reproduce this with a brand new file or on specific files only?
Comment 4 GM 2019-01-21 01:03:28 UTC
I removed all extra fonts (besides the Win7 default ones) and rebooted. Same slow opening dialogs.

It happens with both new documents or old ones.

Tried opening Libreoffice by RunAsAdmin - same behavior...

Looks like a caching problem with Win7 (tried Libreoffice in Win10 under virtualization with Virtualbox and Libre works fine there)

Thank you for your feedback.
I must recognize I'm stuck then.

Since I don't have any more questions to ask, I put it back to UNCONFIRMED.
