Created attachment 148923 [details] Example of wrong rendering Open attached document in version 6.3 and in version 6.2. You need to double-click the formula and you need to set 'Original size' to get the actual rendering. I have used a colored background, so that the size of the formula is better visible. The error remains, if you use the default transparent background. The formula has additional space after the brackets and large additional space after the formula. I see the same error in Draw, but not in Writer. I have used Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: 6d70e04f66cbeb3aeeb1e9b69d5b201ae3d24747 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win; TinderBox: Win-x86_64@42, Branch:master, Time: 2019-01-19_23:55:14 Locale: de-DE (en_US); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded The rendering is OK in Version: 6.2.1.0.0+ (x64) Build ID: dfa1f1f872c418e89757a3985979b79e94c12fcc CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win; Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded
Created attachment 148924 [details] Screenshot of wrong rendering
Confirmed on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit en-US (1803) with nVidia GPU Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: 82fb7f9f90a3ba9d53b3412124e513aa78ddca10 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL; VCL: win; TinderBox: Win-x86_64@42, Branch:master, Time: 2019-02-05_23:41:03 Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US Calc: CL When I open the sheet and click to open the OLE formula, it opens into sm with the width expanded to the box holding the OLE object--but the formula is clipped in its frame. And if I select and try to move/resize the bounding box for the OLE object's frame--the size of the object then shrinks to a size smaller than what is shown initially for the layout of the formula in its cell.
But, not so clear about the regression, as I get the same off size behavior with 6.1.4.2 with same system--with or without OpenGL rendering.
Another thing that is odd, is that there is no response to a <Ctrl>+Z, or entry in the undo history when the OLE being moved.
confirmed in LibreOffice 3.5.7.2 ID сборки: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b on Windows 10 I'm not sure it's regression
Seems the same in 3.3.0 / Ubuntu 18.04. Let's say it's not a regression.
Dear Regina Henschel, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! The wrong size is in the formula in config-item-set ooo:view-settings in settings.xml. So the current rendered size corresponds to that setting. If you change to edit mode and change something, the size is not adapted and the formula is stretched into the old size. Only 'Orignal size' will repair it then. Other way round, if you first set 'Original size' and then go to edit mode, the area of the formula will be displayed with scrollbar although 'AutoUpdate display' is checked. So there is still a problem how the hosting Calc application communicates with the embedded OLE. Tested with Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha1+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: e718f0e703c0fb33a0b1b5efe7b13b02c25f3335 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19041; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL

The spacing is OK in Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha1+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 70fd835b4cf75e386ee115c705241a4059fb68a8 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: default; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded You need to activate the object, then de-activate it and force 'original size' to replace the cached rendering with the actual one.
