The issue is related to settings of pivot tables and pivot charts. 
1. In my Calc there is no option to enlarge the space between bars in the graph. Please notice that this option is available when I create non-pivot charts. 
2. Conditional Formatting placed in pivot table is working generally. However, when I Save & Close the file, all changes disappear and are not visible when the file is opened again.

Spacing (problem 1) works for me with Version: (x64)

CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; 
Locale: de-DE (en_US); Calc: CL

Please attach the file itself.

Please do not report two different problems in one issue. Such cannot be handled. Use a new report for your second problem.
