Description andreas_k 2019-02-08 09:27:27 UTC
When you have a look at writer -> File Menubar there is:

...
---------------------
- Reload
- Versions
---------------------
Save
Save Remote
Save As
Save a Copy
Save All
---------------------

As Versions is an usefull, but advanced task and cause Versions is also kind of save function I'd like to suggest to integrate the Reload, Versions group into an Subgroup in Save. eg. Export As and Send do also have subgroups for special stuff

---------------------
Save
Save Remote
Save As
Save (submenu)
  - Reload
  - Versions
  ---------------------
  - Save a Copy
  - Save All

right proposal with submenu

Also the checkout functions are in the submenu.

Wouldn't combine Versions, Reload, Save all, etc. into a Save as submenu (with Save as function above). So -1 from my side (though I agree that we have quite a lot of options to save).

Plus, for consistency we would have to do the same or similar across modules.

For me, the commands Reload, Versions and Save All have nothing in common with Save As. So I'm also against this sub-meta. It would it make harder for users to find the right command if we hide them in this way.

We discussed the idea in the design meeting and agreed on -1 for the mentioned reasons.
