Description: When adding database elements to a page, the "Next Record" field does not affect the other elements in the page. Instead of displaying the fields of the next record, empty fields are shown instead. When saving the file that merges all the records into one document, the expected behavior is reflected and multiple records are shown correctly in exported document. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create new document. 2. Add database elements ("mail merge") via fields. 3. After adding records from a record, insert New Record field. 4. Place several on same page. 5. Use arrows to change Mail Merge record number. Nice that there is no visual reflection of having all records on same page. Actual Results: Instead of displaying the fields of the next record, empty fields are shown instead. Expected Results: Each instance of elements after the Next Record field is added will reflect the data in the elements of the next record. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: MP4 video of bug in action: https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1pm-vYoji0NCXpRnRovmhoAlaH2NI8faF
Thank you for reporting the bug. it seems you're using an old version of LibreOffice. Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
Tested on v6.2.1.2: Field display behavior has been changed in this version and there is no longer a preview of the field data in the document. Rather, when turning off the Field Names in the View pull-down menu, the table fields are shown instead of their contents. Seen here: https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1IIXMFvJJV4XuRfcFN1CBqkDX-etBq406 Sadly, this seems to be a regression in feature to address the bug. I assume the bug can be closed now as the feature to see the actual field data rather than the field name has been removed? :-(
(In reply to Clinton Paris from comment #2) > I assume the bug can be closed now as the feature to see the actual field data > rather than the field name has been removed? :-( Clinton, nothing happened to this bug during the last month. So I close it. Plese change it back to UNCONFIRMED, if you dion't agree.
