Description: highlight some text to copy or to do anything. Then with the SHIFT key and the arrow move the limits of the block. The block will not really change and will do something a bit different. Then when the operation is done the blocks will stay. Sometimes the text change but the highlights stay in the same position. Steps to Reproduce: 1. highlight some text 2. Press SHIFT and arrow and try to modify the block you highlighted. 3. Do any operation on that block of text. Actual Results: After you do that the highlights will stay. Expected Results: the intended operation might take effect but the highlights stay. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: First the highlighted block should have been modified when the SHIFT + arrow keys are used. Then the highlights should disappear once the action over that block is done.
I won't expect, that highlight disappears, because often you do several changes to a highlighted text.
Works for me. Insert text (e.g. DT+F3), select some words (e.g. He heard quiet steps behind him.) with or without mouse, and finally press shift (+ctrl) and arrow left/right. It extends the selection by character (or word). Don't see anything wrong here.
