Description Luca 2019-03-08 10:35:47 UTC
Description:
Libreoffice 6.1.5.2 and 6.2.0.3
I have many paragraphs left aligned, in which I find bold text and underlined text.
If I select them to justify them, text changes in normal format.
If I place cursor in a general position into the paragraphs, I repeat the command, text doesn't change.

Actual Results:
Select paragraphs left aligned, in which I find bold text and underlined text.
Apply justify option
text changes in normal format.

I place cursor in a general position into the paragraphs
Apply justify optin (using icon or command menu), text doesn't change.

Expected Results:
Why is there this attitude?

Reproducible: Always

Formatting, by style or with "direct" formatting, will apply to current selection or within the current paragraph with cursor focus.

So, when you select multiple paragraphs to adjust formatting--you affect all paragraphs of the selection (and then look to be giving them each "Default" formatting, i.e. removing Bold, Underline, Justification, etc.).

When you have cursor positioned inside a paragraph--changes to paragraph formatting will apply to just that current paragraph. And if you've selected a word, or sentence (rather than one or more paragraphs)--formatting changes apply to just that selection.

You can also adjust formatting by modifying a style (over on the SideBar), and those changes there would affect multiple elements. You make the change in one place against the style--and it then applies to all parts of the document with that style as it updates.
