System details

LibreOffice stops working for several minutes, up to 15, when editing Forms. When it recovers, and you click, again several minutes, until I restart LibreOffice and then for a few moments it works normally, and then again.

It happened also trying to create a new Table within.

That happened before some times when opening many Writer docs at the same time.

What I've found out is that if after every change editing the FORM I save before another change, then it goes ok

@Tim : we need more information on the database setup and forms you are working with.

You mention "editing forms" - what exactly do you mean by this ?

- changing a form in form design mode ?
- changing data in a form in data edit mode ?

Ideally, we would need a sample ODB file that replicates the behaviour you are experiencing with detailed steps on how to reproduce that behaviour. Anything else is just guess work on our part.

In form design I inserted a new Data Field and moved it as well as others I already had, to arrange their position, and after several moves or resizing the field it slows down, but even my self can't tell when it'll happen, so I understand it's difficult to know why it happens.

Tonight it happened when I was editing a Field in the Form, through the Control menu, changing the sql several times.

It happened also after input data in Forms, in 77 records, one after the other.

Hi Tim,
Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not
related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your
Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and
re-test?

Sorry I was thinking on another bug, not this one. This one didn't happen any more but haven't been modifying the data base.

In safe mode it keeps on happening the same.

Also I have found that creating a new table, if I select auto for the Identifyer ID, doesn't permit saving as it gives error.

After modifying many files in the data base it stops and goes very slow. In this case, it's enough to close the data base and open it again so it may work for another 70 entries or something like that, without restarting LibreOffice.

@Tim : please provide a sample ODB document where the problem occurs, that we can try and use to reproduce the bug, otherwise we have little chance of being able to confirm it.

Perhaps the problem lies in a specific feature of your ODB file. As you have not mentioned your tables, or how your forms are set up, whether or not they are based on relationships, queries or something else, ie. pictures, what kind of db engine you are using, etc, there is no way we can currently help you further.

Please bear in mind that anything you post here will not be confidential, so if your database contains confidential information, then you should try and provide us with a different database file containing dummy data instead.

Thank you for your interest! The thing it's that I don't do many changes in the data base and since then it didn't happen again.

Today I've been adding a lot of data to one of my data base and it work perfectly, so it seems the bug is no more, at least for introducing data in new records.

I haven't tried much editing forms, but I didn't have any problem either.

Setting to RESOLVED WORKSFORME as the commit fixing this issue hasn't been identified.
