Please could you test it with dev version? You can download it here: http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/ Thank you

I tried to download what I thought was the correct file (https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Win-x86@42/2019-03-10_23.54.40/libo-master~2019-03-10_23.54.40_LibreOfficeDev_6.3.0.0.alpha0_Win_x86.msi), but Windows Defender would not let me run the file. I understand I may have to 'allow' it to run, but wanted to confirm I have the correct link. would you post direct link to the update you are referring to?
I installed 6.3, but the problem is still there. I'm going to just go back to 6.1.5 and leave this to the experts ;) Thanks!
Well I uninstalled both 6.3 and 6.2, went back to 6.1.5 and it still didn't work. It worked fine before my last upgrade.... I just installed 6.2.1 and still doesn't work... I give up ;)
Also, every time I close and re-open the file, it adds another '#targetsheetname' to the address on the hyperlink as well as a random prefix on the last one.... file:///C:/users/name/documents/filename.xlsx#targetsheet#targetsheet%23targetsheet
Please attach test file. Tried again with .xlsx and target in document works for me in LO 6.3.
Since I went back to 6.2.1.2, I don't think it has a test file. 6.3 didn't work for me either. Is there some other log file I could send? If I save as ODS, it works fine. If I save as current xlsx, it doesn't work on target in same file, but will open a different file to the target. If I save as xls, it opens up a new worksheet of the same file and goes to the target sheet.

Then attach .ods file. If I understand correctly, then resave as .xlsx will show the bug?
Created attachment 150280 [details] xlsx file note the additional characters Calc has added to the target sheet name...I entered nothing, only selected '2' on the drop down menu.

Created attachment 153340 [details] new .ods file I have since updated to Version: 6.2.5.2 (x64). Before, nothing happened, now I get an error. * links to web or other local files work fine * link to specific sheet in an xlsx or ods file generates following error "file:///C:/Users/Guy/Desktop/link%20to%20sheet%20problem.xlsx#Sheet2" is not an absolute URL that can be passed to an external application to open it.

Created attachment 153370 [details] Working XLSX file Thanks for the file. It seems there was something weird in your file: I was able to reproduce the problem, when saving it to XLSX and modifying the link. Yet, when I did the linking in a completely new file, there was no problem. See the attached file and test it. I tried this on your sheet and it works fine. * I tried same on my original sheet and works fine seems it was user error ;) thanks so much for helping out!

I actually created it by picking it from the dropdown menu, but then the name disappeared later. I guess we should close and be happy
