Description info 2019-03-13 15:31:03 UTC
Description:
I cloned an Hdd on SSD to speed up my notebook, everything is ok but only Libreoffice Fresh does not work anymore, impossible to install it again, even deleting all the entries on the registry.
Then I find out that using Libreoffice 6.0.6 installs and works fine, but I can never update it again, every time I try halfway through the installation it reports an error and cancels the installation in progress.

Actual Results:
I'm using without problems 6.0.6 is the most recent one i can install

Expected Results:
With newer versions it starts the installation and stops in the middle, after some waiting it starts the operation of canceling the installation automatically

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

I tried also with the Microsoft application, the problem remains the same. I can't install 6.2.1 and 6.1.5 and don't even update, the installation stops. It is only possible with 6.0.6

Thank you for your feedback.
Just to be sure, did you download LO from official website https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/ ?

Also, here are some actions to try:
- remove any LO version
- clean remnant directories (temp dirs)
- rename or remove your LO profile (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Windows)
- launch MS tool
- search for "LibreOffice" in Windows registry to see if there are some remnants in order to delete them
- clean Windows registry with a tool like ccleaner ou glary utilities
- reboot and try again an install

If it doesn't work, I must recognize I could only advise a complete Windows reinstall since perhaps cloning has some cons. But I know it's tedious and I'm not even sure about the result.

At this moment one should think to oneself: "if writing "an error" is appropriate when reporting a problem?" ;-)

First, you should check and provide that error here verbatim.
Then, check <https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Faq/General/General_Installation_Issues_(Windows)> to find information on creating installation log. Providing it here would *possibly* allow to recognize the problem.

I tried all the solutions, including the complete uninstall of Libreoffice, cleaning windows register, delete manually all the directory and traces on HDD where ther's information about Libreoffice and try to reinstall the fresh version.
Nothing! Impossible to install the fresh, it's accepted only 6.0.6.
I don't have any other idea, I will try to install an fresh copy of Windows.
Thank you to all for the help.

Everything i try to do don't solve this problem, also edit the regedit manually, make the secure clean of all the directory where was installed, etc, etc.
At the end i decide to format the hdd and reinstall windows and later Libreoffice and finally work.
Maybe Windows don't like the cloaning operation.
;-)
Thank's to all for the help
