Description Philippe R 2019-04-12 00:23:16 UTC
LibreOffice writer suggests to correct straight apostrophes (which are called typewriter apostrophes I believe) to curlier ones. However, if the word is in all caps, for example: USSR's, it will be corrected to Ussr's (albeit with the curly apostrophe). I would assume the correction should be case insensitive.

Apologies if this is not a bug, or if I am not using Bugzilla in its intended fashion.

No repro for me with

Version: 6.1.5.2
Build ID: 90f8dcf33c87b3705e78202e3df5142b201bd805
Threads CPU : 4; OS : Mac OS X 10.14.4; UI Render : par défaut;
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded

@Philippe : you don't mention which version of LO is behaving in this way for you.

You also don't mention which language pack, if any, you have installed, as the rules for apostrophe replacement can be affected by the language of the LO interface.

I am attaching a screenshot of what I see with LO6152 and which appears to function correctly with the FR langpack and default lang FR).
