I copied this group from a draw document. 2. I focused the writer document. 3. I selected a group of drawing elements that was here before. This selected group was anchored as character. 4. I pasted the group copied from the draw document, in order to REPLACE the one that was here before (in the writer document). This usually works fine (let's say 90 % of the time).
5.4.7.2 is EOL. Please give a try to a recent LO version by using Ubuntu ppa.
