Description Marco 2019-05-19 07:35:25 UTC
Description:
When opening a template, libre office hangs.
This 'works' for writer and calc (don't use other components).

As this 'works' with both calc and writer, I selected 'base'.

5.xxx versions work fine with existing templates

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open writer
2.type some text ('This is a template')
3.save as template
4.close document
5.open template.

Actual Results:
Libre Office hangs

Expected Results:
Well, open the template and let me use it :)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
When I delete the user profile (the whole ~/.config/libreoffice directory), the template can be opened by double-clicking on it.
When I then close LO, re-start it and open it again, LO hangs.

IMHO it has something to do with a setting in the user profile. But is must be a setting LO has made, as even with a 'virgin' user profile, LO hangs.

OpenCL is not used. For the rest LO seems to work fine.

Can not reproduce on Windows 10 Home 64-bit en-US (1809) with
Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha1+ (x64)
Build ID: 3f5f67c68ae42cd14c08341b597e0331358a0d3f
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL; VCL: win;
TinderBox: Win-x86_64@42, Branch:master, Time: 2019-05-19_01:20:17
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Creating a new ODF Text document template (.OTT) from default profile.

New text document, changing just Default style font attributes from Automatic to color Green. And entering some sample text into one paragraph. Then saving-as ODF Text document template.

The new template can be used to create a new text document with Writer directly--applying the modified default style--by opening the *.ott from system file manager, or LibreOffice filte manager (when enabled expert config).

The new template can be imported into the template manager--using path for Templates showing set in Tools -> Options -> Paths, and opened from there.

I did see a crash if using the Template Manager's Move action to relocate the template to a different category, including the MyTemplates--but it was not consistent that I could work out.

The template manager... Didn't think of that.
Scenario:

Delete ~/.config/libreoffice
Start writer
Open template manager - works fine.
click 'cancel, close writer.
Start writer.
Open template manager - hangs.

Acutally I don't even need a template to reproduce.

Just upgraded to 6.2.4.2.
Seems to solve the problem.
Keep this open for a few days, see if it works every time now...
