I don't understand, why there is an entry "AutoFormat Styles" in the table menu with an AutoFormat dialog. For me the formats look the same than the table styles in the sidebar. So is there a difference? And if not, why there is a different name. Perhaps there is a good reason behind it, but for normal users (like me) it is confusing. Proposing: Rename entry in Table menu to "Table Styles" and also the dialog to make it more consistent.
I agree.. Setting to NEW for the time being
Autoformat is remnant from the TS implementation where the edit dialog was not completed during the GSoC project. It's requested in bug 105933 and when done we should remove this legacy dialog. Whether we close this dialog or rename the command meanwhile is another question. Both are fine for me.

I assume, that renaming is an easyHack, so I would leave this bug open.
I'm against renaming as this has huge impact in UI, localization, help pages, LibreOffice books, etc. First we should be careful with changing and renaming and second as Heiko mentioned this is a dying feature we should not try to perfect it with bad side effects.
We discussed the topic in the design meeting and follow Thomas' comment 4.
