Description patman1971@comcast.net 2019-06-27 16:37:55 UTC
Hello, I would like to see the text outline, if there is one, more broader than is is. Is there a way to increase the size of outlining text or to change the color of the outlining, because this would be helpful in designing applications. In the early 90s there used to be something called WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) in word processing and Image editors, I am not implying copyright infringement or anything, but older software, like GEOS, Graphic Environment Operating System) and geoPaint (full function Image editor) had the ability to color-fill any blank space of your converted your enlarged text into an image, even the space between the text outline. I tried to do that with Draw and had difficulties achieving the desired effect.

No idea about the technical background, maybe Khaled has more details. But times have changed since GEOS. LibreOffice is none-proprietary software and documents created or edited with it have to work the same in other applications too.

So your solution is not outline but shadow or font effects, depending on what you want to achieve. Talking about Draw you may also want to check the conversion into contour feature.

Resolving as WF for now.
