Currency data is part of the locale data for a locale. So far we have no *-LK locale data. Current languages/locales list knows Sinhala [si-LK] so it would make sense to add a si_LK.xml locale data file which we'd need a contribution for the proper day and month names and number formats et al.

For how to contribute locale data please see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/LibreOffice_Localization_Guide/How_To_Submit_New_Locale_Data

The resulting si_LK.xml file can be attached to this bug here.

@Eike,

I made a mistake while creating this ticket.
Sri Lankan currency should be available for those who use English and other locales.

How to update English locale then?

In that case we can introduce an en-LK locale and an en_LK.xml locale data file derived from en_GB.xml using the ref="en_GB" mechanism, as is done for example for en_ZM.xml, see https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/i18npool/source/localedata/data/en_ZM.xml

As that involves a new LCID assignment and language listbox entry I'll do.
