Description: After I install LibreOffice it creates links in the Ubuntu 18.04 debian menu. But if I want to create a desktop link, the starter link when dragged and dropped to the desktop, turns into a root only link. I have to use root privilege to change permissions on the menu link and then drop it on the desktop in order to create a rw user link that opens just by clicking on it. I wonder if you could change the root link into a rw link? Better yet, Include a desktop link in any new LibreOffice installation. Thank you. Actual Results: any libreOffice link turns into a root only desktop link when dragged and dropped on the desktop Expected Results: the menu link should just remain a rw link when dropped on the desktop Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info:
Thank you for reporting the bug. it seems you're using an old version of LibreOffice. Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
the bug is still present in the latest version of libreoffice. I cannot give you any data. I know only that if I drag and drop the /opt/libreoffice6.4/share/xdg/startcenter.desktop onto the desktop, it becomes a root only desktop link. I have to change the desktop folder into root, and then change properties to rwx. ironically after that change, I can now drag a rwx link from the Office menu and it will remain rwx. I am still using ubuntu 18.04
