Description Jim 2019-07-26 11:30:21 UTC
Recently installed LO, 6.2.5.2 on two new laptops (one ASUS, one HP, both with W10 Home.
All works except when editing text in an Impress slide. Clicking on Font or Font Size gives no immediate response. If I wait without clicking anything else, the drop down list appears after a minute or two and can then be used normally.

Tried reverting to 6.1.6.3 on the ASUS - no different.

In Writer the equivalent function operates normally. No problems on an older Dell laptop (with 6.2.4.2).

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong, perhaps during installation?

Regards, Jim Vincent

Could you check if you use OpenGL on these laptops (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps#Graphics-related_issues_.28OpenGL.29)?
If yes, could you check you got last upgrade of your graphic card drivers?
If yes, could you test LO by disabling OpenGL just to compare?

Both new laptops and my older DEll are using the default UI:render.

The DEll is running LO 6.2.4.2 without problems. As I still have the LO installation files on it, I copied these to the new HP. On the HP, I uninstalled the recently downloaded 6.1.6 and then installed 6.2.4.2.

Problem is still there. As it shows up on two different makes of laptop, it looks as if the problem is caused by something Microsoft have done recently.

Thank you for your feedback.
Except giving a try to the prerelease 6.3.0 (see https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/?version=6.3.0), I must recognize I'm stuck.

Installed 6.3.0.2 on the HP. Works fine.
I leave you to work out the relevant difference between 6.2.4.2/6.2.5.2 and 6.3.0!

Any idea when 6.3 is likely to be released? The ASUS is the church computer, in regular use, so don't want to put a pre-release version on it.

It's already released.
Please try again with that version

I installed 6.3.0.4 when it was released and works fine.

Bug can be closed.
