Description roger 2019-08-12 12:22:53 UTC
Changing the icon of a toolbar item (in this case Export as PDF on the Standard toolbar) is reset to the default icon when the program is closed and opened again.

I am using Version 6.2.1.2 under Windows 7.

Thank you for reporting the bug.
it seems you're using an old version of LibreOffice.
Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ?
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
Comment 2 roger 2019-08-13 17:39:49 UTC
The problem is still there in 6.3.0.4
Comment 3 roger 2019-08-13 17:50:44 UTC
Also since changing to 6.3.0.4, I find that form fields (check box, option button, etc) continually flicker and take a lot of CPU load. They stop flickering in design mode.
Is this a 'feature'? How do I stop it?
Unless there is a good fix for this, I will have to revert to an earlier version.

Help - Restart in Safe Mode - Factory Reset - Restart - and the problem should be gone. If NOT then the problem should be found.
Comment 6 roger 2019-08-13 18:50:00 UTC
A new spreadsheet containing solely a check box does not flicker, but still does not save the icon change on the standard toolbar.

Restart in safe mode did not solve the flickering problem.

While experimenting, Calc has twice frozen on me, once with the very simple spreadsheet and once with my working sheet.

Could you please paste the info from Help - about LibreOffice ?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' once the information has been provided

Help - about Libreoffice

This is the About Libre Office text for version 6.2.5. I had to give up on 6.3 because it was unstable on my machine. I was previously using 6.2.2. All these version show the same behaviour rearding changing command bar icons.

Thank you for reporting a bug, I can't reproduct it in:

Version: 6.3.0.4 (x64)
Build ID: 057fc023c990d676a43019934386b85b21a9ee99
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: pl-PL (pl_PL); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

However I can confirm that the bug is present in:

Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ (x86)
Build ID: 5c30c20101f72d973ff28c228f755e635cad14d5
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: pl-PL (pl_PL); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Steps to reporoduce:
1. tools -> customize -> toolbars
2. select icon from assigned commands list
3. click on modify -> change icon ...
4. choose different icon -> ok
5. click ok
6. restart libre office

After the restart icon is back to default.
If anyone else could check on recent master build I would appreciate.

I see the error too, tested with Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: 72b50be0197159c5afc5da4daf01ba303519b14a
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: CL

If I use an own icon, it should be in "\user\config\soffice.cfg\import\images\Bitmaps". There is indeed a file, but it is destroyed and has 0 Byte size.
Comment 12 roger 2019-08-28 10:10:56 UTC
Further investigation shows that this function works correctly when the scope is the current file, but not when the scope i LibreOffice Calc.

This is on version 6.2.5.2, build 1ec314fa52f458adc18c4f025c545a4e8b22c159, under Windows 7.
