Description: FreeBSD team shows their interests to build, test and handle FreeBSD LibreOffice packages. They would like to merge their code for building to upstream. Open an issue for them to submit their patches for review. Actual Results: No FreeBSD LibreOffice packages published yet Expected Results: Insert flags of document liberation on FreeBSD :-) Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info:
Some years ago we invited FreeBSD contributors to upstream patches and they did. We were in contact with various *BSD packagers and there was talk of someone setting up a Tinderbox to provide builds for *BSDs. I guess they were too busy to follow through. Franklin: is your proposal specifically about TDF starting to provide official releases for FreeBSD like is done now for Linux?

A FreeBSD developer in Taiwan, who is now a staff in FreeBSD foundation, contacted with me after COSCUP and showed their interests. I think it should be good to have BSD-version build patch reviewed (and merged if accepted) first, then TDF can decide if they want to official release for FreeBSD or let FreeBSD foundation to maintain/publish. TDF's official release may also mean more tasks for daily build, QA, ... etc. Though my friend would do their best to help with these tasks, but I'd like to have TDF team members to tell us how they think about it.
Build fixes have always been welcome. *BSD versions of LibreOffice have always been available (packaged in the repositories of the operating systems themselves). What has *not* been availabe thus far are daily *BSD builds. This is what I think would provide most value as a new thing. Any volunteer can set up a Tinderbox and start providing daily *BSD builds: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/tb I recommend to close this report as WFM, because build issues do not belong in Bugzilla. The FreeBSD dev is encouraged to submit build fixes to gerrit and set up a Tinderbox.
