Description IDMooseMan@yahoo.com 2019-09-14 21:06:11 UTC
Description:
While running the "LibreOffice_6.2.7_Win_x64.msi" installer, I receive the following popup messages before a rollback process initiates:

"Warning 1909. Could not create shortcut LibreOffice 6.2.1.lnk" and "Internal Error 2909. ixoShortcutPropertyCreate".

I am unable to run LibreOffice and cannot access any of my documents.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run the "LibreOffice_6.2.7_Win_x64.msi" installer.
2. Follow the prompts to install the update
3.

Actual Results:
LibreOffice not updated. Previous version no longer available. Desktop shortcut was removed by the installer process. All applications within LibreOffice are no longer available for use.

Expected Results:
The "LibreOffice_6.2.7_Win_x64.msi" installer should update the previous version to the current version. I should have access to all applications within the LibreOffice suite and should have access to all of my documents.

Reproducible: Always

Are you sure it's "2909", not "2902"?
Indeed, it makes think about https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/153170/libreoffice-603-internal-error-2902-ixoshortcutpropertycreate/

You can also brutal method:
- uninstall any LO version
- remove or backup LO profile (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Windows)
- install new LO version (make sure it comes from official website https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/)

Comment 4 IDMooseMan@yahoo.com 2020-03-16 19:12:58 UTC
On September 15, 2019, at 11:51 AM Mountain Time, I replied with the following to an email I received, "You are correct; it was "2902". Thank you for the article links. I was able to install and run LibreOffice as of this morning."

No idea why is still open after six months, but this issue was resolved back in September 2019.

Sorry if I missed your feedback.
Let's put this one to WFM since there's no specific fix.
