Description William Gathoye 2019-09-15 21:57:24 UTC
On Windows, when an app registered with the ability to read HTML (like Firefox or Discord) is launched, the msi installer is requesting such an app to be closed in order to perform properly the installation of LibreOffice.

Since our help system is not using the default built in web engine from the default built in help, and since we moved to help.libreoffice.org with pages being read directly from the default web browser, this requirement shouldn't be needed any more.

You can find the answer https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/142674/how-to-install-without-rebooting/

@m.a.riosv Can you give me some code pointer about this?

I want to look into it more in details and cannot be satisfied of a simple answer on our Ask instance (even if Mike, the person who answered the question on Ask, is a trustful source).

I'm not a developer.

Ask your onw question in Ask. Or if you want to look into the code try the dev list mail.
