Description Atlant 2019-09-18 10:46:03 UTC
Very much I want function "number page"(PAGE) and "count of pages"(PAGECOUNT) into table in Calc (OpenDocument formats).

In tables! Not only in footer and header!

Can this be done?
If possible, I will be very grateful!

Hello Atlant,
Do you mean to add them as a field the same way it does in Writer ?
Comment 2 Atlant 2019-10-03 16:14:33 UTC
Hello Xisco Faulí,

Can as a field, but would like as a regular function.

My one simple example - in cell "=SWITCH( PAGE(),1,"One",2,"Two")".
Two example - Setting the color of the cell depending on the number.
Or a lot more can come up with options

Hi Atlant. If something is actually printed, then the "page" is related to the sheet of paper, therefore it makes sense for header and footer. But what is a "page" in normal case? Are you aware, that it is possible to have overlapping print ranges, so that one cell will be printed on different pages?
Comment 4 Atlant 2019-10-04 02:57:32 UTC
I know about "overlapping ranges."

And I cannot yet imagine what value in this case will have to be substituted:

#1 - constant (result from the first page)
#2 - recalculation of the formula on each page

If LO can recalculate formulas with "Print preview", can select # 2.
If this is not the case, then variant # 1

And in general, I have written examples of common use.

@Eike, any opinion here ?
Comment 7 Eike Rathke 2019-11-11 14:31:51 UTC
I advise against any spreadsheet function that depends on view and/or printer metrics.

Closing as RESOLVED WONTFIX then.
