Description mgcarroll116 2019-09-24 18:45:44 UTC
Description:
Regardless of the App, neither the "Hands" nor the "- +" keys allow me to partially reduce the size of the Document or spreadsheet so that I can open another similar item or view a dialog box from another app at the same time. What happens if I click-on the "-" sign at the upper right corner of the sheet is that the sheet closes to the taskbar. Subsequent clicking on the taskbar produces a small rectangle with an "X" in it. "Restoring the sheet is the only way to get back to the full size application workspace.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a calc sheet or a writer document, new or previously saved.
2.Move the mouse along any of the boarders to use the "hand" to move a boarder. Nothing happens.
3.In the upper right hand corner, clicking on the "-" symbol causes the workspace to completely minimize to the taskbar instead or reducing to a smaller size.

Actual Results:
Application workspace minimizes to taskbar vs reducing in size. Subsequent clicking on the taskbar produces a small rectangle with "X" in it. Clicking on the "X" does nothing. Right-clicking on the dialog "X" box provides choices including maximize and restore.

Expected Results:
In earlier versions of LibreOffice application work-spaces reduced in size to about 50%.

Reproducible: Always

Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not
related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your
Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and
re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

I received your e-mail regarding "Profile re-set". I re-set the profile and the reported "bug" still persists. Per your e-mail, change status to "unconfirmed".

I use LibreOffice daily and don't miss ms-office one bit. The same holds true for ms windows-10, don't miss it either.

I know what you do is a lot of work. Thanks for your support!

There are no "- +" keys at the upper right corner of a Calc sheet. Are you referring to the controls of the actual window? This sounds like something in your Linux graphical environment.

Which Linux distribution are you using? Which desktop environment?
Attaching a screenshot would be helpful. Look into ways to take screenshots in your Linux distribution. Usually you can just press the PrtScn button (Print screen) on your keyboard and paste into some graphics editor such as GIMP.

I don't think this has anything to do with LibreOffice, but we can try to figure it out.
