When attaching .doc/.docx you must explain how it was created. This one seems to be from LO.
When you report a bug for saving .doc/.docx, you need to attach a source .odt.
So please create simple .odt (even if you didn't but just saved to .doc).
You didn't write if this is a duplicate or if you already searched bug reports.

Thanks for your commitment
My bug is not a duplicate
I created the file .doc with LO Writer when registring it
I transformed it now in .dot

Still not clear. "protect a text" - how exactly, which steps, commands?
Please attach a simple minimal ODT with few lines where issue can be seen immediately.
I looked at your document but I'm not clear, no need to have 5 pages with images.

Ok, so that would be Edit -> Track changes -> Protect

If I take your document (manually save as .odt) and set "test" as the password and save as .doc or .docx I get no error when opening in Word

What version of Word are you testing in? I'm on latest macOS version 16.36

As this was first reported on 6.3.1 do you still have the issue on 6.4.3?
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/

Can you upload the version of the document that fails, e.g., the document you uploaded didn't have the protection on.

I'm also setting this as OS all, since this is likely not a macOS specific problem

If we save attached ODT without Protect password as DOC, it gives Show Repairs window with errors in Word, same as with Protect password.
Protect password doesn't work in Word, but that's another issue.
So real problem is with file, not with password.
File first created as .doc in LO and saved as .odt is incorrect, we should have file that is first and only saved as .odt, to test saving as .doc.
If you can create such .odt file and reproduce errors in MSO when opening, please attach.
Otherwise this report is Invalid.
