Wineskin is a Mac implementation of WINE. I suspect this bug may affect other implementations of WINE. Since I have a strobe sensitivity, and cannot disable the blinking cursors, blinking selection edges, etc. in LibreOffice 6.2.8 for Mac, (it defers to system settings which do not exist), I tried to install LibreOffice 6.2.8 for Windows in Wineskin Winery 1.7, and use win.ini settings to disable the blinking. The installer failed, and gave an error that "no new executables found."
MarjaE: did you give a try to LO 6.3.2? Also on which MacOs are you?
MacOS 10.14.6. Since LibreOffice runs on Linux and MacOS without WINE, I can understand if compatibility with WINE hasn't been a priority. Same error occurs in 6.3.2 for Windows 32. "View Last Run Log Files" also fails, so not sure what went wrong. Trying again with 6.2.8 for Windows 32. "View Last Run Log Files" shows the following: WineskinX11: main(): argc=12 Waiting for startup parameters via Mach IPC. Same error with 3.6.7.2. Tried it since LibreOffice 3 is the earliest in the archive, and if it fails, it's unlikely any versions of 4 or 5 will work. "View Last Run Log Files" gives similar results.
It could also be a Wineskin/Wine bug. I mean if I install Wine on Linux, I don't think I can play any Windows game for example.
Alex: any idea how to disable all the blinking effects in Mac? Indeed, instead of using Wineskin, I think it could be more relevant to use native LO for MacOs instead of using Windows LO on Wineskin.
Doesn’t this option work? (I don’t use macOS, so I can’t tell): http://osxdaily.com/2018/12/17/how-reduce-motion-mac-disable-animations/ If LibreOffice doesn’t respect the setting above, then it’s a bug that should be reported separately.
No, it doesn't work. I've previously reported that for text cursors and other objects: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100706 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94147

As Marja has mentioned in her other replies, she has already reported these behaviours in other bug reports. There is no way to turn this off from within LO, and I don't know of any way to do it at the OS level.

However, this ia an aside from this actual bug report. I don't use Wineskin so can not help here.
The Document Foundation doesn't give official support for LibreOffice on Wineskin and they don't plan to support it in the future either. If you want Wineskin to support LibreOffice, please fill a bug to them. Closing as RESOLVED NOTOURBUG
