5.1.6 is quite old. Last LO versions are 6.2.8 or brand new 6.3.2. See https://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppa/mint_main?dist=sylvia You can also upgrade Mint, last one is 19.2 (Tina)
Please try to use Help with new version LO. While some old help pages really still have Edit - Compare, new help should be fine: https://help.libreoffice.org/6.3/en-US/text/shared/guide/redlining_doccompare.html
