Using File -> Export in Draw yields a file dialog having a check field at the bottom where youcan choose whether you wish to export the entire slide or only the selction made. Exporting the entire slide (with probably much unused space) seems to be a rare case, exporting just the created or selected grafic(s) seems more likely, so I propose to use "selection" as default for Draw.
On the other hand, this might be a general dialog for all modules, and switching the default for all modules might be a problem. So if there is no way to change the default for Draw, the general case might be important enough not to change the behaviour.
So I see this bug report as an inducement to have a closer look at this case.
