Description Karos 2019-12-11 19:30:08 UTC

Saludos y gracias.

Xisco, good practice is not to close non-English report but to translate it, personally or machine.

@karos,
A new major release of LibreOffice is available since this bug was reported.
Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ?
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.

Hello Xisco!
The problem comes when i install, by mistake, the last version (for enthusiast and early adopter) instead of the stable version.
I reset the profile some times, but it´s not work.
I install the last stable version (6.3.4.2 ), but, unfortunately, the problem continues.

Thank you for your attention and support.

Buenas Xisco,

Saludos.

But that's a different topic. Please have a look at the bugs listet under bug 303341, if it has been reoprted. If not, you can open a new bug report.

Previous comment doesn't provide steps to reproduce as requested in comment 8, so I change status back to NEEDINFO.

Hello, I am going to try to explain the incident as clearly as possible:
1º: I installed a version for Enthusiasts / Early Adopters.
2º: After doing this, the paragraph formatting was affected.
The normal way to separate the space between paragraphs has always been expressed in centimeters.
In this way, I can change the separation between one paragraph and another 0.10 centimeters, 0.5 or 5 centimeters if I wish.

Ok, After installing the Enthusiast version, the Format separation unit system changed from Centimeters to Lines.
So now I can't separate the paragraphs in centimeters, but it only just lets me do it in lines (0.1 lines, 0.5 lines, etc.).

Saludos.

Hi, i try the new version 7.0.0.3 and make exactly the same.
Comment 18 Karos 2020-08-20 14:47:41 UTC
May be and option button to select units of separation in Paragraph Option?
Comment 19 Dieter 2020-08-20 15:24:33 UTC
Now I've got it. I think, this is the intended behaviour, because it is very comment that paragraph spacing follows the line size. But you can choose cm, if you select line spacing "at least" or "fixed". Does this solve your problem?
=> NEEDINFO
Comment 20 Karos 2020-08-20 16:46:22 UTC
Hi, I have changed the paragraph spacing options to "fixed" and "at least", but it still performs the separation of paragraphs by lines.
What's more, if I put "0.1 cm", Writer automatically changes it to 0.18 lines.

Thanks!

Interestingly, Impress and Draw show the option to separate paragraphs in centimeters not in lines.

showing the different measuring units for paragraph formatting

I can confirm the initial bug with LO Writer 7.0.2 under Linux Mint 20.04 Cinnamon.
My installation is the original version from the LibreOffice PPA plus the Sukapura icon set.
The same LO-version under Windows 10 does not have this bug.
If you need further information please contact me specifying what you need.

Dear Karos,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team
