Description: In linguistics, forward slashes enclosing phonetic symbols are often used, as here: /a/ and /j/. When I use forward slashes with my current version of LibreOffice (8.0.7.3), the slashes and the symbols are italicized, which I do not want. To get regular type, I have to remove any spaces before the first forward slash, hit Save, and then reinsert the space. For example,if I want to write: The correct symbol here is /a/. I have to write: The correct symbol here is/a/. Then I have to hit Save and finally I have to reenter the space between the word "is" and "/a/." Steps to Reproduce: 1.I have given those steps above 2. 3. Actual Results: italics instead of regular type Expected Results: I get italics Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Given me regular type because at no time did I call for italics
That is a LibreOffice AutoCorrect feature. Disable it from Tools -> AutoCorrect -> AutoCorrect Options -> 'Options' tab. Uncheck the box for either while modifying, or for typing in new text.
