Description: In the template manager, there are drop-downs to filter by "application" and "category". The problem is that changing the "application" also changes the "category" back to "All Categories". This is irritating if the correct category is already selected, which is very likely the case since the dialog remembers the last used category. Whether the current behavior is intentional or not, it would be better for the filter drop-downs not to interfere with each other. Steps to Reproduce: Change application drop-down in template manager. Actual Results: Category changes. Expected Results: Category is unchanged. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info:
Reproduced in Version: 5.2.7.2 (x64) Build ID: 2b7f1e640c46ceb28adf43ee075a6e8b8439ed10 CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: default; Locale: zh-CN (zh_CN); Calc: group Although this may well be intentional, as a narrow category may not contain any templates for the selected module, so the default behavior is switching back to "all categories", to make sure the user can see all the templates and won't mistakenly think that there are no templates at all for that module. I agree the current behavior is annoying to advanced users, of course.
Don't see a good reason why the filter is reset.
Version- LibreOfficeDev 7.2 Yes, the filter gets reset as above.
This was fixed in this patch https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/113712
