Description schlebe 2020-02-01 14:28:25 UTC
When I read a DOCX file in LibreOffice and when I edit a mathematical formula, the escape character used to define function (example \int for integral) is not more visible.

I'm not sure that this character is there before.

But now, using version 6.4.0, this character is not more visible or is not more there !

If this is exact, it is an important error.

Could you attach an example file?

DOCX file with 2 formulas

The linked ZIP file contains a DOCX file that contains 2 formulas.

After having open DOCX file in LibreOffice, you must DOUBLE click on any formula to see the Latex expression in bottom of editable area.

The displayed Latex expression doesn't contain any \ character !

I have added a PNG file in attachement that is a PrintScreen of problem.

Thank you Schlebe for your feedback.
On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today or with LO Debian package 6.3.4, I see "int", not "\int").
I don't know what was the behaviour before but indeed, I think there was some "\".

Hi schlebe,

What you see is not LaTeX expression of the formula, but rather the LibreOffice Math expression. And from my test result, LibO Math hasn't been using the backslash symbol \ in its expression for quite a while (I tested version 5.2.7). You may also notice that it uses "int from {...} to {...}" syntax instead of the "\int_{...}^{...}" one in LaTeX.

I don't use Math myself so can't be sure there was ever a time it used backslash.

Thanks, you have rights. The mathematical expression in LibreOffice is not a Latex expression. To work with Latex, I must install an extension 'as 'TexMaths'.

I regret only that Latex is not integrated directly in LibreOffice ;-) or that the language used by LibreOffice is not Latex !

You can close this issue.

Thank you for your feedback, let's put this one to NOTABUG then.
