Description Hermann Rochholz 2020-02-06 18:12:20 UTC
Description:
I upgraded from 6.3.5.1 to 6.4.0.
NO start was possible any longer.
Then I uninstalled 6.4.0 and tried to go back to 6.3.5.1 .
Now 6.3.5.1 is not any longer starting.

Then starting safe mode - this works.
Continuing with standard mode: Hangup!

Uninstalling Plugins and resetting profile from Safe mode does not help to start LO.

This is LO itself or it is also for every specific LO application (writer etc.).

Finally, switching off OpenGL helped.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start it
-> Hangup

Actual Results:
---

Expected Results:
--

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Swithing off OpenGL removed the Problem.
But Why did it happen from V.6.4 and not before
and why is it now not any longer possible
to start V 6.3 with active OpenGL?

Is there any possibility at which point in the Code there is the hangup?

Setting to NEEDINFO until info from reported is provided

Sorry 4 that.

I had this huge problem
(I write a book with LO and it is not very funny when the "tool" does not work - I hope you understand that)
and as I remember correctly it vanished when a new revision was rolled out.
Please close it.

One Question:
When I have a CRASH or something similar - you write "need info" - How?
Comment 6 Julien Nabet 2020-08-09 10:14:02 UTC
Let's put this one to WFM then.

I'm not sure to understand your question, "NEEDINFO" is just a status of the bug.
Comment 7 Hermann Rochholz 2020-08-09 11:02:00 UTC
When there's the "needinfo" state, it's a keyword for your process.

The point of the user (me):
I cannot provide you info you need. I only click on it and I see a crash.
I would have to install a debug version and a debugger.

Kind regards!
