Description: If you want to change your paragraph style in some cases the the font style does not change, e.g. if you change the font style of some words before. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new paragraph 2. Change the font style for some words at the end of the line 3. create a new paragraph with <enter> 4. try to change the new paragraph style Actual Results: The new paragraph style cannot be changed. The font style keeps like you changed before in the first paragraph Expected Results: The new paragraph should change the font style format according to the paragraph style selected. This affects only the font style values, other paragraph style information e.g. linespacing etc were correct Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Libreoffice version Version: 6.4.0.3 Build-ID: 40(Build:3) CPU-Threads: 8; BS: Linux 5.5; UI-Render: Standard; VCL: kf5; Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI-Sprache: de-DE Calc: threaded
The error described always happens when opening an existing documents, although they were created and stored with Libreoffice the same version. In a new document the error occurs as described.
To make sure we are following the same Steps to Reproduce, please see if the following steps are correct: 1. Type "abcd" in the first paragraph, and set "d" to bold, by selecting "d" and then clicking the "Bold" toolbar icon. 2. Put cursor at the end of "b", hit Enter to create a new paragraph, and type "efg". Now "efg" is showing "bold". --> This is expected, as I have set "d" as direct formatting in the previous paragrapy, so the new paragraph has "inherited" the direct formatting. 3. Select "efg", and click the "Bold" toolbar icon again. --> "efg" now becomes un-bold. This also correct and expected. So where is the problem? By saying "Style", I understand that you are not referring to the "Styles" in the sidebar (i.e., the Styles dialog as appears when you hit F11). I mark this as NEEDINFO. Please provide your feedback and then set the status back to UNCONFIRMED.
The error is very hard to reproduce, because sometimes it works correct sometimes not. But its very annoying when it appears. assumption: * the defined font style for paragraph Text Body and Standard is Liberation Serif * do not copy and paste a text (the error may not occure) 1. create a paragraph with more than two words eg. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit 2. select the two last words and change the font style to Liberation Mono 3. enter a second paragraph and write "In facilis ocris" This paragraph keeps with font style Liberation Mono 4. try to change the paragraph style to Text Body or Standard expecting the font style changes to Liberation Serif The format may change (e.g. line spacing) but not the font style, it keeps with Liberation Mono
[Automated Action] NeedInfo-To-Unconfirmed
Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and re-test? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present
I deleted my user profile, then I added the text as I described before. With this steps I could not reproduce the error everything works fine. Ok, this is the second time that I reported a bug that can be fixed by deleting the user profile. Wouldn't it be better that the user profile is deleted during the upgrade process? I'm using a rolling release so I receive many updates ;-)
