Description horus 2020-02-24 10:21:26 UTC
I'm using the spreadsheet app a lot but I find it very inconvenient that Ctrl+V pastes *value and format*. I know that to paste only value, I can use the dumb combination of *four keys* Ctrl+Shift+Alt+V ! This also is very inconvenient. Why four keys? Can't it be reduced to three? It seems like the people who programmed Calc are NOT spreadsheet's usual users. They just don't have the practical sense.

Please implement a way to let users paste value (or unformatted text if you like) when they press Ctrl+V. Also, please make it as smart as Excel to paste the value without asking too many questions: unformatted text, Unicode, tab separators, etc.

The expected behaviour is that when a user presses Ctrl+V to paste value, it is as if the values are *typed from the keyboard*

Thank you for reporting the suggestion.

I have reduced the severity of the bug to "Enhancement," as this is not a bug.

Assign/reassign any shortcut you like, including the <Ctrl>+V
