Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a new presentation. 2. Write a text box with enough paragraphs to get resized to fit. 3. Select something other than the textbox or just click its outside a couple of times, so it's deselected 4. Double-click the text box. You should see: 1. The viewport moves somewhat - with a new toolbar opening up, that had earlier not existed at all. 2. In some cases (e.g. should happen due to the large amount of text) there is a change in the page zoom when leaving and entering the frame's editing state. That too triggers movement. 3. There's a short delay until Impress becomes responsive again. Tested with: Version: 6.3.2.2 Build ID: 1:6.3.2-1 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.2; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; Locale: he-IL (en_IL); UI-Language: en-US
I cannot confirm your exact observations but instead I found that some lines of the text box moved a couple of pixels to the right and to the top when I double click the text box and the text bos was previously not selected. But my observation also occures with text boxes that have previsouly not resized to fit; so it might be a different problem after all.
(In reply to Oliver Grimm from comment #1) I should mention this is not a new issue - I've experienced this (at least effects 1 and 3) when working with Impress for many years back. And (1.) is just a misfeature, really. As for (2.), I can't seem to reproduce it with 6.4 . I'm not even 100% sure that it's the resizing-to-fit that's the necessary trigger.
In general it is a good idea to file separate bug reports for separate problems so we can keep tracks of problems (and resolutions) one at a time. Mixing several bugs into one report makes it difficult to specify what one is talking about when discussions get lengthier. For now, can you please pick one of your three observations and edit the title of your bug report accordingly? thank you.
Since you cannot reproduce it any more I am setting this to RESOLVED - WORKSFORME for now. Please feel free to reopen once you can reliable reproduce it on your machine. Thank you.
