Thanks Andreas for the nice shapes, this is really useful! Heiko: I guess it's too early to talk about that. The SmartArt problem is a large one, it's necessary to break it down into smaller sub-tasks. Editing existing SmartArt is an easier problem, and not yet solved. Once that's in place, we can start thinking about adding some kind of preset/gallery to create new SmartArt as well. The smartart markup in OOXML is really complex, it's not yet clear what's the best way to represent smartarts in ODF documents. We may want to call this Diagram on the UI, though. The spec uses that term.
So let's wait with the patch until SmartArt editing is implemented. Bringing these images into the Gallery is very confusing.
ok I would go the other way around, but no problem I can upload an extension and the good thing is that I don't have to finish my work. It's a lot of time to do all the drawings correct.
As in the Diagramme gallery there are "SmartArt" images in there I recommend to update the diagram gallery to use LibreOffice shapes instead of have there colored images which you can't change. As it's only an update of diagram gallery the name smartArt was never in mind and I think it's possible to update. In addition my hope is that SmartArt can use gallery items.
