Description: This seems like an obvious ask. Could you please make sure that libreoffice can use all the fonts available in ubuntu, and any other operating system for that matter. This should be a very basic function of any word processor and I'm really surprised this is such a common issue for some many users from the searches I've done so far. Steps to Reproduce: 1.install a font 2.open libreoffice 3.can't see font Actual Results: fonts don't show up in writer after they are installed. Expected Results: Fonts should be available and work. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: This seems like a pretty simple ask. no further information to provide.
>This seems like a pretty simple ask. no further information to provide. I don't agree. Some time ago, a question that a user cannot use specific font he installed was posted in the Japanese forum, and the cause was that the font was type 1 font, support for which was removed in 5.3 https://ask.libreoffice.org/ja/question/228884/ I suspect the problem could be caused by the same reason, so I want the name of the font to be sure that this is not the cause.

there are several fonts that I've installed: cormorant garamond & EB Garamond are the two that I would like to be able to here.
Both are truetype fonts.

When reporting a bug, all details need be explained. In this way, you are wasting everybody's time. If software is free, time is not. "install a font" - how exactly? Both seem to be OTF. EB Garamond is available in Ubuntu. When I install fonts-ebgaramond via package manager, I can use EB Garamond 08 and EB Garamond 12. With fonts-ebgaramond-extra, even more fonts. (In reply to himajin100000 from comment #1) > the font was type 1 font, support for which was removed in 5.3 Yes, as in https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/5.3#Fonts. I wish it was clearly said in https://help.libreoffice.org/7.0/en-US/text/shared/01/font_features.html
Please see bug 98596 if the same and respond.
There was no response, so I'll close. If you reply as requested, set Unconfirmed.
